Tuesday: New Nanny App

A newborn baby can be a daunting prospect, riddled with nerve-racking questions that spring up in the most inopportune moments in time.
In an attempt to give new parents answers to hundreds of questions about pregnancy, babies and childcare, a new iPhone App is offering immediate expert advice on the go – whether you’re breastfeeding, changing a diaper, or taking a temperature.
Nanny App, labelled a modern day Mary Poppins, covers questions from ‘Is my baby warm enough?’ to ‘When will my baby’s hair grow?’, with a Panic Button Checklist works through what could be wrong when all else fails.
Created by a graduate of the prestigious Norland College for nannies, named ‘Nanny M’, who has 15 years of invaluable baby-rearing experience curated for your finger-tips.
Rachel Provest, co-founder of Nanny App, said: ‘New parents often turn to websites and parenting forums which can be a real danger as they often contain incorrect information.
‘We created Nanny App to give parents quick and easy access to reliable, qualified advice from a classically trained nanny with experience caring for all types of families from Royalty to single parent families.’ One mother who reviewed the app for The iPhone Mom, wrote: ‘[It] reminds me of the type of advice that you might get from a close friend who has been through the same situation with his or her own children.
‘The benefit with the app however, is that you have all of the answers… without having to wake your friend up at midnight to ask what are the causes of Colic.’
Nanny App, available in the App Store for $4.99, enables new parents to instantly access a large database of parenting advice, with answers to over 800 questions about pregnancy and the health, safety and development of infants and toddlers.
Broken down in categories like Newborn Baby, Feeding, Sleeping, Bathing, Health & Safety, Nappies, Travel, Activities & Play, and Behavior & Development, the app’s content is preloaded, so it works without Internet connectivity. Parents can also submit specific questions to Nanny M via email, receiving an answer within 24 hours.
